Senior Physiotherapy Partner
Catherine qualified as a physiotherapist in 2001 from Manchester School of Physiotherapy.
After completing junior rotations, she obtained a role as a senior physiotherapist and started to specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Catherine has worked at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital Trusts where she became a highly specialised physiotherapist in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders working alongside consultants in musculoskeletal assessment clinics (MCAS).
Catherine is also a qualified APPI Pilates instructor.
Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist- Upper Limb
Jo is co founder and former partner of West Kirby Physiotherapy. She qualified in 1987. Jo has a Masters in Advanced Practice and is an Associate lecturer at Liverpool University. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and written several book chapters. She is also a Board member of EUSSER (European Society of Shoulder & Elbow Rehabilitation) and Chairperson of the EUSSER Education Committee.
Jo continues to work in the NHS in a Clinical Specialist role specialising in the upper limb as well as having a consultancy role with several elite sports teams.
Specialist Vestibular Physiotherapist
Tanya trained and qualified at the Royal Orthopeadic Hospital in 1992 and has worked in and around the North West since then with the exception of a year working in New Zealand. Since 1996 she has worked in the local NHS Trust and has specialised in Musculosketal physiotherapy and sports injuries. She has a particular special interest in Vestibular dysfunction and rehabilitation and we are delighted to be able to offer this service at our clinic. She also has great experience working with Tinnitus and temporomandibular dysfunction and has close links with the local NHS Ear Nose and Throat services. She has studied at Masters level on these subjects and is involved in ongoing research into these areas. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Vestibular Rehabilitation (ACPIVR), the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Temporomandibular Dysfunction (ACPTMD) and a member of the British Tinnitus Association.
Janet qualified from the Liverpool School of Physiotherapy in 1983, she began her career working within the NHS and she worked for over 15 years within The Royal Liverpool Hospital, Wigan Royal Infirmary, Whiston Hospital and St Helens Health Authority. She worked in Private Physiotherapy practice since 1992. She is a member of the Manipulative Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP), the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) and also the private practitioners association Physio First. She provides work place assessments, focused around industry occupational health and ergonomics. She also works for a number of sporting organisations including the City of Liverpool Swimming Club. As of October 2012 Janet was appointed as the official team physiotherapist for the Mersey Tigers basketball team. In 2002 she was also chosen to attend the Manchester Commonwealth Games, as part of the medical team within the athletes village. Janet has worked in private practice in Liverpool since 1992 and joined the team at West Kirby Physiotherapy in 2018.
Katy qualified in 1998 from Liverpool University.
She also works at the Royal Liverpool Hospital as a shoulder specialist and has also developed a specialist interest in the assessment and management of patients following trauma.
Katy has worked at West Kirby Physiotherapy for 15 years.
Specialist Women's Health Physiotherapist
Becky graduated from Sheffield University with her degree in physiotherapy in 2003 and has specialised in pelvic floor , continence and women's health physiotherapy since 2005.
She worked at Arrowe Park Hospital until 2009 when she joined Wirral Community NHS Trust to lead the pelvic and women's health physiotherapy service.
She is also trained in the use of acupuncture within pelvic and women's health including during pregnancy.
Becky lectures at a post graduate level for Chester University and peer reviews articles for the POGP (Pelvic Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy) Group.
Caroline has specialised as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist for over 10 years at the Royal Liverpool Hospital and now at Arrowe Park and has worked as a Spinal Specialist working in assessment and Orthopeadic clinics working closely with leading Spinal Consultants.
She has also completed her training as a Pilates instructor with the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) and teaches small classes at the practice.
Elaine is a valuable member of the team and ensures that everything at the practice continues to run smoothly. She is responsible for a wide range of duties from paying bills, booking in patients and keeping the physios in check!
Elaine has worked at West Kirby Physiotherapy for over 12 years.
